All i remember next is the cat laying in front me…i was holding it down but it wasn’t fighting me…it now looked like my cat. When i woke up there was a tabby cat sitting on my bed in front of me and she reached out her paw as though to touch my face, and then she was gone. Cat sitting really helps me with my social anxiety.
It is okay if your cat does not want to sit on your lap.
Incidentally, this can work the other way around, too. I always have a few furry companions in bed with me all night. Goes to sleep if i say i am going out and she should too. I want to be around people.
